One way for gasoline to get down to $2.00 a gallon is for this(our)economy to go in the toilet.

Anybody who thinks ANY of the current crop of wannabe "most powerful leader in the world" can bring the price of oil down needs to have their head examined for gray matter residue.

In defense of not reading between the lines in my previous post, I have never read Swift and your(csm)latest rash of apoplexy at the dark side camp and their ruminations left me with the impression you were being straight. :) My bad(I have been saying this alot lately).BAWDYSCOThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07003013789708853085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6384511685152656450.post-87866539016042819452008-09-04T23:32:00.000-05:002008-09-04T23:32:00.000-05:00The only comment I can think of that is relevant i...The only comment I can think of that is relevant is to quote the Republican horde in Minnesota - "Drill, Baby Drill!"

and then I'll shake my head sadly as I mourn the lack of intelligence as displayed by the unwashed masses...csmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14196500927690180464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6384511685152656450.post-25604171006010004952008-09-04T23:06:00.000-05:002008-09-04T23:06:00.000-05:00This morning I was watching CSPAN 2 for a while, t...This morning I was watching CSPAN 2 for a while, their morning call in show (I tune in on rare occasions). This time they had a lady who's a big supporter of McCain & Co, and she came out with some of the most absurd statements. For instance, she claimed that because Obama is not in favor of expanded drilling (in Alaska) that he wants us to keep high gas prices and keep our reliance on foreign oil, whereas McCain's insistence on such practice will mean less dependence and that gas prices will fall to 2 dollars a gallon or less.

I'm still so stunned by that claim that I can't frame a decent comment on it.Ceroillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03756008690996661354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6384511685152656450.post-80254524071716101362008-09-04T18:09:00.000-05:002008-09-04T18:09:00.000-05:00Read between the lines, Bawdy. The idea is not to ...Read between the lines, Bawdy. The idea is not to get the gummint into the oil business, but to get the Republicans to actually vote on the god damn issue they are spouting off about. My guess is, the Reps would NOT vote for it. Also, my guess is that the Dems don't have the balls to take the issue off of the table in this manner.

You should always be able to tell when there is a subtle layer of satire/irony in a post because I usually title it using a variation of Swift's A Modest Proposal.csmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14196500927690180464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6384511685152656450.post-41670524870423602362008-09-04T17:39:00.000-05:002008-09-04T17:39:00.000-05:00I would hope not. Let's see, the federal government getting into the oil business, a business they have neither expertise or experience, let alone the free market ramifications. Let's give the feds one more political football both sides can fight over and the power and money the gusher would produce. And what US domestic purposes should take precedence? Great idea, csm.BAWDYSCOThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07003013789708853085noreply@blogger.com
