Watched the Republican Debate(?) last night, my first and probably last, and was flabbergasted at the lack of any kind of critical thinking amongst the five. csm, I believe Obama is a shoo-in for reelection and I do not consider this a good thing, but I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of them. So I am back to my regular answer, if they have a D or an R after their name, I ain't votin' for 'em.

Gary Johnson(two term governor of New Mexico) is considering a run as the Libertarian candidate; that is probably where I will go.

This also leads me to agree with the thought, "how can anybody expect that somebody who would go through the trial of becoming President of this country would be a good candidate for the office of President." The best candidates for the office would never run and that is our(the voter's) fault as we keep expecting better things from them when all we get are shitheads. Insanity anyone?

Sorry, bawdy, I really did know better. It is just that I have grown used to responded to the Paul-bots who promote him without any critical thinking or investigation into his background.

Now we see Romney with two wins in his pocket and picking up steam. Let's see what happens if Romney wins the Republican nomination. My guess is that the teabaggers nominate their own candidate (someone crazy like Bachmann) and maybe even Ron Paul will run (Libertarian?) now that he is not going back to Congress. I think this year could be one of the most interesting in a long time...

You don't have much to worry about. The economy will have returned enough to reelect your guy, even though he had little to do with it. I still maintain the President has little influence on the economy; you and I have more to do with it than he or Congress at this point.

If I had to vote today, to me the lesser of all other evils would be Ron Paul, mainly because he is willing to substitute the word liberty for freedom every once in awhile.

I find it interesting the best quotes(IMHO) were from supposed "conservatives" (Goldwater, Mencken, de Tocqueville). I guess it really pays to figure out what someone's moral compass really includes. The men I mentioned believe in liberty, not puritanism, law and order or some other restricting moral code much of the other quotes seem to be speaking of.

I also found it interesting many of the quotes come from Truman, the man who brought us the Korean War and wage and price controls, and Woodrow Wilson, the man who had to get us in WWI and the Sedition Act of 1917. Yeah, these were great men.

Both sides can create shitheads, and do. It takes great study to find the jewels amongst all the shitheads, and liberals have not cornered that market.
