For years, promises to leave the United States in the wake of an undesirable political development have been the domain of liberals. Celebrities such as Alec Baldwin, Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon all at some point suggested they would move to Canada if a Republican won the White House

Hmmmm. Costa Rica, why that is one of those countries the drug cartels use to transport cocaine from the Andes to Mexico and ultimately the US. Coincedence, maybe.
Dragonfly is headed there is 3 weeks. Rush would just broadcast from there and retain US citizenship.
Here is a reason not to pass it. We can't afford it and it still leaves 10 million uninsured.
I was listening to Mojo Nixon's radio program called LYIN' COCKSUCKERS last night. He was railing on about health care and his question to his audience was this: Should we pass a half-assed bill or do nothing at all?
I truly don't know whether we'd be better off with this bill or with nothing. I'd rather the Dems grew some hairy ones and just said, "OK, throw this out and here is Medicare for everyone" for an up or down vote.
Mojo also asked my favorite question about the uninsured: Should we just let them die?
It is my favorite humorous question. Even without health insurance everyone has access yo healthcare through clinics, ER and pro bono services. Did he mention that about 10 million will be left to die with this bill?
We just don't know how to love!
I hate to keep harping(no, not really)on health care savings accounts and the fact the only way to really lower the costs of healthcare is to have the consumer pay the cost, whether the services themselves or insurance. And with health care savings accounts, whether tax free through an employer or just given to the poor through the government(state governments would be best), ALL citizens would have access with the ability to pay, not just an insurance policy(insurance doesn't guarantee healthcare). Mike, even the 10 million who would be on the outside looking in would have their own account.
It is portable(you fucking own it). Purchase a catastrophic policy for the big stuff, pay out of pocket for the little stuff and any savings at the end of the year is yours to keep. This would be a way for the poor and the young to start building a nest egg. The power is with the consumer and that always brings down the cost. Doctors and hospitals would have report cards and rate sheets so the consumer has the needed information to make a good decision according to their own needs. And the best thing is the federal government has nothing to do with it.
The main reason I am disturbed that the healthcare bill has passed is that now the mental midget that is Nancy Pelosi can focus her idiotic gaze on other issues and 'solve' those just as well! Can't wait to see what someone who thinks natural gas isn't a fossil fuel will do with the energy situation! Or how she will solve the employment problem when we are losing 500 million jobs a month!!! You can't write comedy like this!!! Keep those successful failures rolling you wacky progressives!
Maybe we can have a liberal genius like Phil Hare (D-IL) help us out on these other major issues since he did so well on healthcare reform. Who cares if he doesn't know the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence? Hell..he's only a congressman.
