Today is a solemn day for all Americans as we reflect on the horrors of six years ago. It is my sincere wish that all of us - Republican/Democrat, athiest/theist, man/woman, all races and creeds - use this day to carefully consider our lives and way of living... and how quickly it all could end.
The events of 9/11 should never be used as a political tool or ploy. Instead 9/11 should be a day of national reflection and consideration for our future. Not a day of mourning, but a day of hope. Not a day of fear, but a day of thoughtful preparation for what needs to be done. Not a day of sadness, but a day of pride.
Join me today, if you will, in reflecting on our national spirit and ability to do the right things. And then do your own little bit to make your reflections reality over the course of the next 12 months...
Thank you.

Complete 911 Timeline
Part of that national reflection includes the realization that what we do as a country has consequences; and just as our system of law, ignorance is not an excuse. Our country's activities might not come back to bite us in the ass right away; it may take a decade or two.
The memory of that day will linger in our cultural memory for decades at least.
