Yahweh: I am that I am - Exodus 3:14
Popeye: I am what I am and that's all that I am.
This round goes to Popeye for his humility...

Where reasonable people discuss reason using methods both reasonable and unreasonable...

Reminds me of one of my favorite bits from Cartoon History of the Universe. In the section dealing with the origins of Judaism, it is mentioned that the name of God is spelled YHWH because if you knew the whole name you'd get blasted by a bolt from the blue. So while Yahweh and Yehowa are accepted approximations, as far as we know the real name might be YahooWahoo.
I always have had a warm spot for Popeye and hey, I even learned to love spinach!
still don't like spinach, but i have wondered if the ol' sailor was saying that 4 a reason...
makes ya wonder.
csm,
Hey, are you stealing copy protected images?!!! Why you dirty rotten communist bastard. And to think I thought you were an upstanding citizen!
The above message was tongue-in-cheek(disclaimer recommended by my legal counsel).
csm,
I guess I should explain the previous post. When I brought the blog site up to check in, the Popeye image was not there and in it's place was a little box which said(paraphrasing) the image was not to be used without authorization at a free site. I feel stupid now, because as I can see the image of our sailor friend is now in it's rightful place. I guess I just jumped the gun.
No problem, Bawdy. While stealing an image is not beneath me, I wouldn't want to tussle with the Popeye folks! So I just linked over to the image using HTML.
So what I saw was not a mirage?
Not saying that as I am not sure what exactly you saw! But I never did steal the Popeye image, just linked, so I have not changed anything since this particular entry went live.
csm,
I got that message again and here it is...

I have no idea what this means, but at least I am not going crazy...I think.
Now I see it too.
Thanks for affirming my vision, but to screw with me even more, the original Popeye image is now back. Gotta love the Internet, eh?
Interesting... I have never seen that message. It has always been a remotely linked image of good old Popeye for me!
I found a different graphic of Popeye to remote link to - - are you guys still getting problems with this new one?
Graphic is there.
