Great Moments in Presidential Speeches

I don't know about you, but I couldn't stomach another 4 years of this. Even McCain's wheezy whining stutter-talk would be a minor improvement...

Using a lot of uhs is indeed annoying. And Obama needs to bring down the uh count when speaking off the cuff. As a frequent public speaker myself, I know this can be done with a little concentration. I'm sure President Obama will learn and modify, unlike W.

Of course, the video at this link was clearly altered in several places so either it was edited for length, edited to add in more uhs, or both. None of the Bush clips were edited that I could tell.

Did I understand you correctly? This is a man who attended Columbia & Harvard and spent well over 15 years speaking as an activist and in the government realm. Suddenly, at 47 years of age he will work on eliminating the Uhs if he reaches the pinnacle of his career? I don't think so. Obama will continue to mimic Bush with the uhs and speak as often as possible with a teleprompter. Presidents just don’t have that kind of time.

I think I have a great idea and unlike myself I think we need a new Department in the Executive Branch. That Department would be the Department of Comedic Utterances and I believe we have our man, er dude. This also should be a lifetime appointment.

Yes, mouse, you understood me correctly. Unlike many drooling troglodytes out there, I, and other enlightened folks, realize that learning and improvement are life long quests. Open your mind and you might realize it, too!
