Rats Leaving a Sinking Ship?

With Karl Rove moving on to the next chapter of his life, does this signal the start of the rats abandoning the sinking ship that is the lame duck portion of GWB's presidency? Or is it just Rove accepting the reality that he can no longer play war and cut taxes for the rich? I'm guessing Rover realizes that his friend (the president) has poll numbers stuck in the mud, is a lame duck, and has to work with Congress having a majority for the opposition - - and therefore nothing of consequence will happen in the final 17 months or so of the GWB administration.

A quick stop by to see how all are doing. I hope well. csm, the weather in Sugarland is looking dicey as I type. RUOK?

I'm busy travelling these days, and listening to the stream of candidates coming through New Hampshire. I'm still supporting Hillary. :)

So...
Anyone agree with me, that Cheney demanded that Bush fire Rove as retribution for Scooter Libby?

Hi Jan - good to hear from u again. Everything is OK here in Texas - a LOT of rain and delayed flights, but no flooding. Have to drive to Austin tomorrow and that oughta be a joy.

Anyway, I doubt that even Cheney would have that much power. And what kind of retribution would that be? Are you saying that Cheney is petty enough that his go to guy was skewered so W's go to guy should be skewered? Hmmmm... I bet he is that petty, but I doubt that is the case.

Well, maybe I spoke too soon about everything being OK here in the great state of TX. It looks like Hurricane Dean may be heading our way... it is still a coupla days away but it looks like it could be in TX by Tuesday (it still could veer South to Mexico or North over LA though).

Best quote I've heard regarding Karl Rove is a paraphrasing of Shakespeare: "Some people are called to greatness, some have greatness thrust upon them, and some are just grating."

I think the loveliest thing I've heard since Rover stepped down is that W calls him "turd blossom" - that sorta says it all.

I find the "Live Traffic Feed" interesting. Unless there's someone else who logs here who lives in Old Hickory Tennessee, that is meant to indicate me. Well, for the record I'm not in Old Hickory, I'm a few miles away from there. Anyone wanna 'fess up about being a fellow Tennesseean?

I added the "Live Traffic Feed" to get an idea of how active the site is. I think the location it comes up with is based upon the location of your ISP.

I'm not complaining, csm, I just find it interesting. Now I do see my location listed. So..I begin to wonder if maybe I am fairly close neighbors with one of my fellow posters. Not that I'm about to go scouring the region, seeking out whoever it may be. I just find it curious that there would be two people here who are so close in regular space/time. Anyway, nice to see this blog doing so well.
