None = Fastest Growing "Religion"

According to the most recent American Religious Identification Survey:

In the US, the number of non-religious people has more than doubled from 14.3 million in 1990 to 29.4 million in 2001; their proportion has grown from just eight percent of the total in 1990 to over fourteen percent in 2001.

This was the greatest increase in absolute as well as in percentage terms among all religious groups.

Perhaps there is yet some hope for reason and sanity?

I imagine you looking a lot like David Byrne in the big white suit as he sing/chants "Once In a Lifetime"... am I close?

Nope, as I posted once before(Freethinkers, when Bev was takin' suggestions for actors to play us; I wonder how far that project has gotten?)I have been mistaken for a biker. Real long hair, gray beard and chunky. Don't wear suits much; mainly tee shirts and shorts when on my own time, business casual at work. Comfort is king!

Luv the Heads tho, especially "Remain in Light". Great album.

I do remember Bev's quest to publish our conversation on FT. It would be fun to see if she has made any progress (though I doubt it). You and I probably have a great deal in common looks-wise except for the long hair.

Yeah, I have a beard and long hair, too. Not real long but too long for most. It seems a strange coincidence.

Ditto here: Long hair, beard.

Well, we are quite the group. We get shit for being atheists and now the beard and long hair thing. I certainly didn't think we were NORMAL! Thank goodness.

I guess if we ever got together in one place we'd look like a bunch of damn hippies!

BAWDYSCOT said...

Some would say fuckin' hippies.

Ceroill said...

Dang, now where did I put that tie died tee shirt?

csm said...

I always enjoyed fuckin' hippies! But, of course, I use the word fuck as a verb, not an adjective, in that sentence.
