It is Really Over! And a New Day in America Has Begun.

Today, our country's 8 years of darkness is at an end. We can now say proudly, President Obama is the leader of our nation, and the free world.

President Obama gave a very nice inaugural address today. My favorite line is "...we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."

All of our good will and best thoughts go out to you today, Mr. President. Left or right; conservative or liberal; and even, libertarian... today we all have a new president.

Now let's help him undo the damage of the past 8 years.

Another brilliant line from President Obama: "We reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals."

Can you even imagine GWB ever saying something like that?

Nice re-design of the White House web site, too.

I can see you are in your element, csm, but I am still in the wait-and-see mode.

I have to take a position of somewhat hopeful cynicism here. Not as gung ho whee as CSM but not quite as uncertain as Bawdy.

I thought George Bush was giving the speech especially on terrorism. What a relief he backed down from all the inane promises from the campaign trail. Bush must of had quite an impact over the last 2 months. Actual responsibility can do that to a fella. But like Bush, he probably will keep the cash drawers open to the banks and domestic auto manufacturers. Speech 101 is officially over.

As for flawless, Barrack is the 43rd person to be president not the 44th as he claimed but who is counting? I hope his fact checkers are more careful in the future especially on the big ticket items.

Aahhhh, good to see that we can still pick nits.

Yes, I think the most important thing is wrangling over whether he is the 43rd person to be president versus being referred to as the 44th president (W was always 43, right?)

If that is the extent of the criticism, things must've gone very well yesterday.

And, by the way, just for Bob: "Wheeeeeee"!
