Is America a Christian nation, as many conservatives claim it is? One American doesn't think so. In his press conference on April 6 in Turkey, President Obama explained: "One of the great strengths of the United States is … we have a very large Christian population -- we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."
President Obama has not been everything I had hoped he would be. This does not surprise me at all. I am not a fan of continuing or heightening the war in Afghanistan. I am not a fan of not going after torturers and exposing the wicked things they did. But, all in all, President Obama is doing a fine job, at least in the opinion of this liberal atheist. And the above quote/link is just one example of that... I mean, could you even imagine GWB or any one his cronies saying, or supporting, such a statement?

I don't know, he then turned around and implied to the Muslims we were one of the largest Muslim nations. I think he just says whatever the audience wants to hear.
N Korea certainly thinks he is weak, Iran continues to hate us while blaming us and France & Germany have actually made verbal stands in the Iraq civil war while Obama says nothing. I never thought I would see a day when he had nothing to say.
He continues to come across as weak. Eventually he must stop continuing to vote present and actually take a stand. He seems to be more concerned about Fox News. What will happen when ALL the press turns against him? Get a thicker skin buddy!
I must say if that is all you got, this man has been a complete failure. I agree with Bill Maher, time for some substance and some results.

Yes, Lou, you are truly a bastion of moderate-ness.
{sarcasm off}
There are 2,350,000 Muslims in the ole US of A (and you can add in the 5000 or so in Puerto Rico if you wish). That is a small percentage of the US population (less than 1 percent) but still a significant number. One of the larger populations outside of the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia, actually.
