Murray Hill Incorporated is Running for Congress

In honor of the recent Supreme Court decision to remove corporate funding limits in federal elections, a Washington, D.C.-area public relations firm has decided take the ruling to its logical conclusion and run for Congress. "Until now," Murray Hill Inc. said in a statement, "corporate interests had to rely on campaign contributions and influence peddling to achieve their goals in Washington. But thanks to an enlightened Supreme Court, now we can eliminate the middle-man and run for office ourselves." The firm, which prides itself on its progressive agenda and knack for satire, claims to be the first "corporate person" to run for office and has announced plans to run in the Republican primary for Maryland's 8th Congressional District. "The strength of America," the statement continues, "is in the boardrooms, country clubs and Lear jets of America's great corporations. We're saying to Wal-Mart, AIG and Pfizer, if not you, who? If not now, when?"

The year is 1947

Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a little over 60 years Ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five Aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell New Mexico . This is a well known incident that many say has long been Covered up by the U.S. Air Force and other federal agencies and Organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April
1948, nine Months after that historic day, the following people were born:

Albert A. Gore, Jr..
Hillary Rodham
John F. Kerry
William J. Clinton
Howard Dean
Nancy Pelosi
Dianne Feinstein
Charles E. Schumer
Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep and jackasses?

I certainly hope this bit of information clears up a lot of things for you. It did for me. No wonder they support the bill to help illegal aliens! Now You Know.

"Obama Doesn’t ‘Begrudge’ Bonuses for ‘Savvy’ Businessmen

Feb. 10 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama said he doesn’t “begrudge” the $17 million bonus awarded to JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon or the $9 million issued to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. CEO Lloyd Blankfein, noting that some athletes take home more pay.

The president, speaking in an interview, said in response to a question that while $17 million is “an extraordinary amount of money” for Main Street, “there are some baseball players who are making more than that and don’t get to the World Series either, so I’m shocked by that as well.”

“I know both those guys; they are very savvy businessmen,” Obama said in the interview yesterday in the Oval Office with Bloomberg BusinessWeek, which will appear on newsstands Friday. “I, like most of the American people, don’t begrudge people success or wealth. That is part of the free- market system.”

Obama sought to combat perceptions that his administration is anti-business and trumpeted the influence corporate leaders have had on his economic policies. He plans to reiterate that message when he speaks to the Business Roundtable, which represents the heads of many of the biggest U.S. companies, on Feb. 24 in Washington."

This sounds like a bunch of horsecrap to me. His left leaning base couldn't be too thrilled with these statements and the right doesn't trust him. The political equation looks like this:

Bullshit + Horsecrap = No credibility

More and more the president is looking like a right-leaning centrist than the central-leaning liberal he campaigned as. It is disappointing.

Oh well, at least he isn't writing talking points on his hands.

Small consolation, csm.

Referring to Obama as a right-leaning centrist is ridiculous... unless you consider Ted Kennedy the center. The only way Obama has been in the center is by saying one thing and then doing another.

Bog O is a right leaning centrist? What have you been smoking csm and could you share? The best description would be way over his head. He is truly is in line with the socialist wing of the DNC which is why he cannot garner any momentum in congress.

The biggest laughs of the last few weeks has been the WH going out of there way to make palmgate a national story. Quite unbelievable and then the WH claiming Iraq may be their greatest victory to date. You got to love the audacity of this WH to take a bow for Iraq.

At this point Big O is looking for any victory. He even changed his mind for the Super Bowl and took Indy. You gotta feel for the man and his painful losing streak.

Yeah, calling Obama a right leaning centrist is like calling GWB a fiscal conservative. They are all fuckers because they put party, ideology and themselves before the country. Until the corporation/federal government nexus is destroyed, this is the type of representation we will continue to get from this batch of dipshits.

I wish the president were more liberal and progressive. It would be great if he would step out and use the bully pulpit to fight for true health care reform. It would have been great if he would have used the Democratic super majority more wisely when he had it by giving up on bi-partisanship when it became abundantly clear that the Republicans had no other agenda than making the president fail.

csm, you need to stop listening to your Progressive sources and just watch what is happening to Greece, an extremely liberal and progressive country to say the least, with the profligate social spending destroying any capability to maintain itself. They are desperately hoping it's socialist neighbors and fellow EU countries, namely Germany, will ride to the rescue. It is 50-50 whether this will happen and if it does there are plenty of other socialist EU countries behind Greece(Italy, Portugal and Spain, and from what I am hearing Belgium, Austria and France are not far behind)with their hands out.

It doesn't look good for Greece as the population is so imbued of the government subsidies and handouts that when the government tries to make the austerity measures it must to stay a country the people strike against it. The people cannot or will not see the handwriting on the wall. They will become the dupes of the German government if they are not careful(the Germans are basically running the EU show now, not France). And if Germany doesn't come to the rescue of Greece and the rest of the Eurozone countries, the chances of Global Economic Recession Part II become ever greater.

Oh and BTW I am also hearing the Russians are making attempts at rescuing some of these countries if given the chance(they have already offered this help to Iceland a few months back and the Greeks are talking to the Russians and Germany is getting friendlier and friendlier with the Russians(natural gas, the great reconciler).

The Progressive press is reporting that speculators are doing this to Greece, and you can believe this if you want, but much of Greek debt is owned by other European banks which have much closer ties to their respective governments than our banking system, at least up until a year ago.

Greece is the canary in the coal mine and that canary doesn't have much of a heartbeat and their government and the people themselves are the culprit.

Mike aka Dragonfly said...

That is an accurate analysis Bawdy. The only thing to add is that we are in a worse situation than Greece.

Can Big O possibly be any more Liberal? I think he has pegged out which exactly why he could not get other members of the DNC to follow him. Look up Blue Dog Dems csm to get a little understanding. You might look at the last race in Mass.

The truth is Big O does not need to please the far left like csm to keep votes. He knows their votes are his regardless of decisions. He must maintain the votes of blue dogs and Indys to maintain control of congress and his own POTUS. He realizes this truth but he is either ignorant or oblivious.

BUZZZZZZ

You don't even need to look as far as Greece to see where unchecked liberalism leads. Just turn your attention to what's going on in California, which is still under the protections of the US Constitution (unlike Greece).

California has long been the nation's leader in implementing most of the liberals' policies. And after just a few decades in that direction, the state is bordering on bankruptcy... even with income tax rates, sales tax rates, and other "fees" that are at or near the top in the nation. And all this is BEFORE they were able to implement universal health care.

BAWDYSCOT said...

Reason magazine had a great article on California's woes and it comes down to the State Employee Unions and their golden retirement plans. Looks like corporate CEOs aren't the only ones who get a red carpet into their golden years.

G said...

The public employee unions are a big part of it, but there is a lot more to it than that. There is the free-spending legislature that has never seen a social program it didn't want to fund, an oppressive regulatory environment, corruption at every level of government, a refusal to clean up the welfare system, etc.

For many years, the state govt has been making the business environment as unfriendly as possible for those who actually contribute to the economy.

BAWDYSCOT said...

I know g, I live in Arizona, a beneficiary(I know we have our fiscal problems too, but not to the extent of California) of your inhospitalty to business. I would also venture that our state legislature is a little more entrenched in reality than yours.
