Hypocritical Republican Question of the Day

Who said this about Bill Clinton?

"...if you undermine trust in our system, you undermine everything."

Hint: It is a two-faced, hypocrite, Republican, asshole.

(I know, that is not much of a hint... there are so many of them.)

The fucking hypocrite is, of course, SC Governor (Rep.) Mark Sanford, who missed Father's Day to fuck his mistress in South America...

Here are some of his "family values" quotes (and further evidence for my stance on politicians who spout "family values" rhetoric:

“The bottom line, though, is I am sure there will be a lot of legalistic explanations pointing out that the president lied under oath. His situation was not under oath. The bottom line, though, is he still lied. He lied under a different oath, and that is the oath to his wife. So it’s got to be taken very, very seriously.” [Sanford on Livingston, CNN, 12/18/98]

“We ought to ask questions…rather than circle the wagons for one of our tribe.” [Sanford on how the GOP reacts to affairs, New York Post, 12/20/98]

“I think it would be much better for the country and for him personally (to resign). I come from the business side. If you had a chairman or president in the business world facing these allegations, he’d be gone.” [Sanford on Clinton, The Post and Courier, 9/12/98]

“The issue of lying is probably the biggest harm, if you will, to the system of Democratic government, representatives government, because it undermines trust. And if you undermine trust in our system, you undermine everything.” [Sanford on Clinton, CNN, 2/16/99]

Clinton didn't, Sanford shouldn't and it is the right decision for both. Business leaders everyday cheat and never lose their job. Its not right but it is not illegal.

CSM, you are truly the hypocrite here! One standard for Clinton another for Sanford. tsk tsk

No law broken and he should follow the same line of reasoning Clinton did to stay in office. Its not like he pulled a Blogovich here.

Lou,

With all you have posted here about religion and the right way to run your life, would you really want to have this guy running your country, state, county or city? I mean it is one thing for him to keep his job over this, but would you want him as your representative?

None of this shit surprises me. When you have meglomaniacs obsessed with becoming "public servants" because of the goodness in their hearts and the need to "give back" to society, it is all a cover for the need to become powerful and rich.

I sure hope Obama doesn't give up cigarettes; if he does, who knows what will happen.

No hypocrisy here at all, Louie. (Well, at least not on this issue.) The point is that Sanford (and Ensign and...) are out there talking about "family values" and they, themselves, have none. HYPOCRITES! Billy Boy didn't do that.

And yes, if Sanford wants to finish out his term, by all means, let him, if his state permits him to do so. The more weak Republicans there are in office the better the left looks!

Oh, and welcome back, Bawdy. Hope your vacation was great (and I thought the comment about Obama's cigs was funny!)

csm said...

Oh, and by the way, Lou, IT IS ILLEGAL in South Carolina. Look it up.

csm said...

I agree with the following take on this, too (perhaps not that he should resign, but what the true problem is): What makes Governor Sanford’s behavior problematic, is not the breach of his marital promises to his wife, but the breach of his responsibilities to his constituents.

Lou said...

If it is illegal in SC, he should get the ACLU involved. Simple as that. It is not a matter if I want him running a state, it is a matter of legality. CSM is upset because he is the wrong party. That is all really.

If CSM really cared about hypocrisy, he would list the 2-3 hundred broken promises Obama has already broken. I mean promises that really mean something to the nation. Not a fling by a governor.

Bawdy I can name 50 polticians I don't wnat as my Rep. Unfortunately, not much I can do at the moment. The gov doesn't rep me. It could be worse, they could have Blagovich.

csm said...

Yeah, yeah, tout the Republican line and claim to be a moderate. I've heard it all before, Lou.

And I'll not condemn a presidency after 6 months. I am disappointed in things Obama is doing/not doing - probably not the same ones you are though! Our troops are mostly out of Iraq as of today though, and that is a good thing Obama promised to do that he followed up on.

The bottom line is that right wingers are hypocritical more often that left wingers - at least about "family values." The Dems have Spitzer (and he resigned). The Reps have too many to count and list (Gingrich who was cheating on his then wife with his current wife when he was condemning Clinton for doing the same thing, Ensign, Sanford, Larry "Wide Stance" Craig, and on and on and on...

Bottom line: Republicans are loonies and Democrats are wimps.

One of the most used cuts at atheists is that we lack a moral compass because we don't have a historical ethical doctrine to follow. I ask the question, is it better to not have a supposed moral compass or is it better not to use the one you purportedly follow?

Lou said...

The difference CSM, you pass right over the dems. Then you call all others "Republicans" or "Right Wingers" who condemn your heroes. I am apalled with them all who cheat and lie. Its that simple.

You are the tpical hypocrite who will defend his own guys for the same moral failings as the ones you call out. A moral failing is a failing weather you declare family values or not. That is easy for guys like Obama since one of his favorite habits is voting present.:) Instead of hering it all, try listening for once.

Bawdy, it depends on the compass. Everyone has one. Even Mao & Stalin had some sort of moral compass. I wouldn't recommend it. And the fact is, we all fail at one time or another. The politcal hacks like to maul the opposition when it happens. As long as it isnt illegal, I let it go for the most past if they sincerley apologize. I believe in some mercy.

csm said...

Hmmm... So where are these "heroes" of mine that I laud? I remember calling the ACLU heroes. I do not recall any ACLU execs being caught in hypocrisy lately. I remember giving an example of why I like Obama... don't recall ever calling him a hero.

I recall lumping Spitzer in with the huge right wing cadre of lying, cheating weasel fucks. I also recall saying the John Edwards was pathetic (or something like that) but not like the big hypocrites on the right who talk up "family values" but don't have any themselves.

So, Lou, what the fuck are you on about you crazy right wing shit?

Only a truly bat-shit crazy ditto head would liken abandoning the constituents of your state for multiple days without anyone knowing where you are - and over Father's Day weekend - just so you can fuck your Argentinian mistress to, uh, voting present. Yes, yes, yes, these are equivalent issues - you right wing nerd in a bowling shirt (ahhh, Kinky!).

csm said...

And Louie, my boy, if you are so sure there are 200 to 300 hundred promises broken by Obama, then by all means, list them out. And back them up with attribution or it is useless.

Lou said...

Ew, back to those nasty attack labels CSM?
I know Obama and the rest of your heroes (otherwise known as democrats) are your heroes because from what I see, you never have a post blasting them. Not one. Blagovich, Obama & his many hypocritical lies or as you mentioned Spitzer just to name a few. How about Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Charlie Rangell or Biden and his stupid remarks.

I have a close friend who hails Republicans as you do Democrats. It is a sickness or just plain 'ol brainwashing.

Guys like you are enablers. Our nation will remain stuck between a rock and a hard place becuase there are so many of you on both sides. Great at pointing out one sorry party (rightly so) but unwilling to turn against their own caped crusaders. You will be a DNC supporter until the very end refusing to see the horrible cycle as power swings from one party to the other.

(Laughing) If you can't see the huge list of broken Obama promises then you must have the eye sight of Mr Magoo. I can't help you there. I don't have the time!!

csm said...

Looks like the South Carolina hypocrite won't be proving he didn't use taxpayer money to fly to Argentina to fuck his mistress, which means he probably did.

Of course, can't prove it yet. But if he did, couple that with his 5 day abandonment of the state and he will be sunk.

csm said...

Well, Lou, my point of view is that the media is chock full of right wing airbags more than happy to try to poke holes in the Dems... not nearly as many liberal voice out there... so that is my "agenda," if you will, to point out right wing hypocrisy and lies.

I've stated that before, but you blindly ignore it. Not surprised, so be it. And fuck you.

If you don't like it, feel free to post anything you think is important as a comment here. Or start your own damn blog.

Lou said...

Don't need more blogs CSM. Got plenty. But since you admit your own hypocrisy you need to change the name of your blog. You are not even close to being a reasonable individual.

As far as the left not getting a fair shake with the media. There is pure inadulterated stupidity. The media kisses the the Obama moon on a daily basis. Even journalist admit that they are mostly liberal democrats. At least use some honesty when defending your blogging.

The only media liberal & dems do not dominate is talk-radio and even then we have to swing the pendelum to the FAR right. You must stay glued to Fox News and and really believe that is how the rest of the media operates. (chuckl) WOW! I mean ABC has become the Obama state television network!

I'll let up on you now. Just had to set you straight.

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, whose week-long disappearance and subsequent admission of an extra-marital affair generated a huge media buzz, left the governor’s mansion 77 times in the past year-and-a-half without a security detail.

77 times? Wow!

csm said...

And to reply to Clueless Lou:

The "liberals" in the media (of which you speak) that work for many mainstream news outlets are not the venom spewing, invective leveling hate-heads of the right. Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Coulter, O'Reilly, and that is just right off the top of my head. Fox News is but one of their platforms. The only liberal pundit who even comes close to these hate mongers is Keith Olberman, but in most cases he is not spreading lies, like Rush and Adam's apple Annie, and their ilk...

And skip-to-my Lou, nothing I said is in any way an admission of hypocrisy, nor is it even close to being hypocritical, so stop trying to put words in my mouth you right wing loony.

csm said...

Right wingers see liberal media bias in the mainstream, and left wingers see conservative media bias.

The actual mainstream media is neither. Fox, on the other hand, is VERY BIASED. MSNBC is starting to become just as biased in the liberal direction.

csm said...

Here is a specific case of showing no liberal media bias when a right winger proposed that there was one.

csm said...

And here is coverage of the myth of Obama media bias.

csm said...

And another one, where actual research shows that the big network TV stations were actually tougher on Obama than on McCain.

I know, conservatives rarely respect actual research though. They probably just "believe" these things on "faith."

Lou said...

Oh no you didunt! Using liberal media to prove the media is not biased? Hilarious!

Here let me post links proving my you wrong. Many more out there but I am pressed for time.

http://newsbusters.org/

http://www.mediaresearch.org/biasbasics/biasbasics1.asp

You are such a ding-a-ling CSM. All I have to do is turn on the tube and click news links. I don't need um (chuckle) "RESEARCH". Only two good solid unbiased sources. WSJ & Reuters. BHO always makes me laugh when he brings up Fox. He doesn't deal with criticism well among other things:)

csm said...

WSJ unbiased? Now you're making me laugh.

csm said...

And it no longer surprises me when a conservative laughs at research. Unfortunately...
